Supporting growth in the print industry

FESPA has been supporting the print community via successful exhibitions, events and publications since 1962. As well as providing education and networking opportunities.

The company has grown hugely over the years, but their website was struggling to cope with their diverse offerings.

The challenge

FESPA is a multi-faceted organisation and needed to convey this on their website. They needed to promote membership and ensure a smooth conversion process, but they also wanted to be the main hub for print community news and events.

As well as these very different user journeys they also needed the ability to create numerous distinctly themed news sections and microsites. All easily accessible through the Kentico platform and easy to update.

What we did

The site has gone through numerous iterations over the years, with the latest update needing to be a focus on becoming an industry news hub and membership platform. Kalago worked closely with the FESPA team to create a multi-faceted site that needed to handle very diverse user journeys.

Alongside vastly expanding FESPA's news and events sections, we also completely overhauled the membership process through stakeholder meetings and UX reviews to craft an optimal sign-up process.

An improved member onboarding process

When FESPA completely restructured their membership offerings we helped them plan this user journey, picking out any issues with the process and finding the best technical solutions to onboard them and allow smooth payment.

We designed a process to ensure optimal conversion that was fast and easy to use at any screen size. We considered best practices in form design and interaction at every step. When designing forms it's vital that users aren't distracted or confused at any point, otherwise it's highly likely they will abandon the process. We at Kalago know this and are highly experienced in planning and designing complex onboarding processes.

The Results

FESPA needed their website to display very different forms of content for very different user journeys. Kalago designed and developed a website to enable this. We enabled FESPA to expand their presence as a print industry news hub whilst allowing them to customise and theme news sections with ease. Not to mention being a hub for industry events too.

Kalago ensured the member sign-up process was as clean and optimised as possible through thorough planning and UX processes. This planing was vital to FESPA's business and had to be right. We delivered to help build FESPA's membership numbers and lower abandonment while in the sign-up process.
